Overview

This open-source 3D model provides a Finishing Torture Test designed to evaluate and compare surface finishing on parts produced through desktop-size FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) 3D printing. It enables the comparative assessment of surface finishing performance across different 3D printing settings, materials, and finishing conditions, supporting experimental analysis of coating quality, adhesion, and visual appearance. The model was originally developed for research on metallization finishing processes for polymer-based additive manufacturing.1

  • 🔩 Slicing and fabrication: PrusaSlicer 4 , Small-format Fused Filament Fabrication 3D Printer.
  • 📎 Materials: According to the specific tests and comparisons.
    PLA, ASA, PC-ABS, CO-PE and CO-PE filled 20% carbon fibers tested during the experimental work.
