GigabotX improvements for pellet extrusion

3D Printer Upgrade (Extruder redesign)

Overview

This open-source redesigned pellet-based extruder for a large-format pellet-based 3D printer is developed to improve the printability of recycled feedstocks within fused granular fabrication (FGF) 3D printing systems. It includes a redesigned extrusion system, modification components, and configurations used to adapt the commercial FGF platform. This new version enables more stable material flow, improved dimensional accuracy, and consistent performance at common speeds. demonstrating the potential of recycled plastic-based materials for large-format additive manufacturing in distributed recycling for additive manufacturing contexts. 1
