FiberEUse Library - Physical structure designs

Educational Tool (Physical materials library structure)

Overview

FiberEUse Library 1 is a materials library system focused on the project FiberEUse, which contains the main recycled materials and product applications using recycled glass and carbon fibers for new value-chain based on circular economy practices. This repository contains the 3D models defining the physical structure and organization of the FiberEUse materials library. It provides the physical stand structure elements and spatial layout used to arrange, present, and check the material samples, enabling the replication and adaptation of its physical exhibition format. This physical layout supports easy experience, exploration, and understanding of recycled and composite materials thanks to a guided spatial disposition of the samples, facilitating the dissemination of material knowledge through accessible and reproducible physical setups. 2

Documentation

  • More information about the FiberEUse Library is available in the "About" section.

Materials and Tools

  • ⚙️ 3D modeling: Fusion 360 (CAD design) 3 .
All 3D models are available as STEP and STL files to facilitate replication and modification of the structures to meet specific needs.
  • 🔩 Slicing and fabrication (3D printed parts and joints): PrusaSlicer 4 for 3D printable parts, Small-format Fused Filament Fabrication 3D Printer.
  • 🔩 Fabrication (structure): Laser-cut acrylic parts, files available in the repository.
  • 📎 Materials: Commonly-available 3D printing filaments, such as PLA or PETG, including recycled feedstocks. PETG tested for the current version.
  • 🔩 Additional off-the-shelf: to be added to the product for the intended use (Please refer to the documentation in the repository).
