Despite the importance of assistive devices in the daily lives of patients with reduced limb mobility, the abandonment rate of these assistive products remains very high. In most cases, this choice is due to the strong clinical aesthetics of the device, which can be judged as stigmatizing by the user, as well as its inability to fully meet the user's needs. These products become, therefore, less accessible, making it difficult for users to use them during their everyday activities. Users are nowadays gaining a more active role in the development of new products hanks to digital fabrication, e.g., 3D printing, and the creation of communities focused on collaboration and sharing. This trend is also true in the medical field, where new projects and tools are fostering greater patient awareness. Among these, Codesign assumes a crucial role. By involving users in the product development process, the product outcome is more aligned with their unspoken needs; easily customizable to fit their requirements; and accessible due to the dissemination enabled by digital technologies. This paper outlines the design methodology and the results of two codesign projects carried out at +Lab, the 3D printing lab of Politecnico di Milano, focused on everyday products developed with and for people with different disease conditions: (i) rheumatic diseases (Noi Non Ci Fermiamo, developed in collaboration with the patient associations ANMAR, APMARR, ALOMAR, and Roche S.p.A.) and hemidystonia (Engiò, developed in collaboration with a patient). These projects demonstrate that user involvement can lead to concrete results when adequately supported during the design phase. 1
